Toolroom Technician

About the Role

GDC Middle East is seeking a Toolroom Technician to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves performing logistical support functions for the GDCME/MNG Logistics/Supply Chain Management (LSCM) organization. The role focuses on ensuring equipment operational readiness through efficient management of spares, consumable parts, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Order, receive, inspect, stow, preserve, package, ship, and issue materials and cargo.
• Unload incoming inventory, stock items, pick inventory, prepare repair shipments to OEM, assemble kits, and manage the window for issues and returns.
• Perform inventory cycle counts, research missing parts, and report discrepancies.
• Monitor and track Class III (p) shelf life to ensure critical consumables are available prior to expiration.
• Prepare and maintain required forms, records, correspondence, reports, and files, ensuring proper documentation and on-time metrics.
• Load and unload material within warehouses or storage facilities using appropriate handling equipment.
• Monitor aircraft time-change components schedules to ensure timely ordering of replacements.
• Monitor the repairable exchange program and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
• Ensure all related parts supply operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
• Analyze inventory levels, production speed, and item demand to determine reorder levels and minimize costs.
• Inspect goods upon delivery, perform quality control, handle delivery inconsistencies, and quarantine parts that fail inspection.
• Analyze and select materials for packaging, including HAZMAT and oversized/overweight items, based on durability and cost-effectiveness.
• Train customer personnel to develop and maintain an effective supply/parts management regime.
• Schedule training events, obtain instructional materials, and perform clerical and administrative duties related to training.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistical support or supply chain management functions.
• Demonstrated ability to perform within broad guidelines with significant choice of methods.
• Experience in inventory management, including automated parts operations.
• Proficiency in handling and packaging goods for transport.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy and documentation.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, and hoists.
• Capability to analyze inventory data and make informed decisions on reorder levels.
• Effective communication and training skills for supervising and directing individuals, as well as training customer personnel.

Work Environment

The Toolroom Technician will work within a warehouse or storage facility environment, requiring the movement of materials to and from aircraft and within the facility. The role may involve supervising, training, and directing assigned individuals within the organization.
