The Traffic Control Engineer Role

Sama Construction & Contracting is seeking a Traffic Control Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves designing, implementing, and overseeing site traffic management plans (TMP) and logistics operations across large-scale infrastructure and mass earthworks projects.

Role Scope and Project Focus

The Traffic Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of equipment and vehicles on project sites. A key aspect of this role is minimizing traffic disruptions and enforcing strict site road safety protocols, particularly for heavy construction machinery and earthmoving fleets involved in significant infrastructure and earthworks operations.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and detour strategies in compliance with local transport authorities.
Manage and regulate heavy machinery movement, mass haul routes, access roads, and site entry/exit points for earthworks operations.
Oversee site traffic safety measures, including signages, temporary barriers, lighting, and flagger deployments.
Conduct regular traffic safety risk assessments and implement corrective measures to prevent site road accidents.
Coordinate with municipal authorities, local traffic departments, clients, and contractors to secure necessary traffic permits and approvals.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position should be qualified and motivated, possessing 0-1 years of relevant experience. The role requires an individual capable of managing complex traffic control scenarios within a dynamic construction environment.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will work on-site, managing traffic operations across various project locations within the region.
