The Role of Value Engineering Expert

The Value Engineering Expert will be responsible for leading initiatives focused on enhancing project value and achieving cost efficiencies across all project phases. This position requires a specialist who can apply advanced Value Engineering methodologies to identify and implement strategic improvements for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Value Engineering (VE) studies and workshops throughout project design and delivery.
• Facilitate Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) workshops and identify value improvement opportunities.
• Perform cost optimization, Life Cycle Costing (LCC), and comprehensive cost-benefit analysis.
• Develop and evaluate engineering alternatives through structured optioneering and Value Engineering methodologies.
• Conduct Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) for technical and commercial options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, commercial, and project controls teams.
• Review engineering designs and recommend improvements that reduce cost while maintaining functionality, quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Prepare Value Engineering reports, presentations, and recommendations for client approval.
• Support design consultants and project teams during concept, preliminary, detailed design, and IFC stages.
• Ensure compliance with SAVE International standards, client requirements, and project governance procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in Value Engineering, specifically for large infrastructure, transportation, rail, aviation, highways, or mega construction projects.
• Proven experience in leading Value Engineering workshops and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with international engineering consultants, Project Management Consultants (PMC), or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) organizations.
