About the Weapon Senior Superintendent Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Weapon Senior Superintendent to join our team in Taif. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the development, effectiveness, and consolidation of approximately 65 Armaments supervisors and tradesmen, comprising both Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Contracted Maintenance Support (CMS) personnel, within the Aircraft Generation Flight at King Fahad Air Base (KFdAB).

Role Purpose and Operational Context

The Weapon Senior Superintendent will manage engineering activities and ensure the effective supervision of Weapons personnel. This includes overseeing maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft to ensure strict adherence to The RSAF Regulatory Framework. A key aspect of the role involves supervising RSAF and CMS personnel, leading their mentoring, and facilitating their consolidation development within the Forward Maintenance environment.

Primary Accountabilities

• Establish and lead the optimum technical development approach for approximately 65 Armaments tradesmen, including RSAF and CMS consolidation.
• Establish and maintain individual development plans for each member of the Armament trade.
• Provide trade leadership in the effective control and supervision of all maintenance activities carried out on Typhoon aircraft by Armament tradesmen.
• Ensure all personnel engage in activities within their Area of Responsibility following correct practices and observing safety precautions, complying with the Salam Support Safety Case Report.
• Ensure no one is exposed to unnecessary or uncontrolled risk within their Area of Responsibility, as far as reasonably practicable.
• Verify that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with approved data and by appropriately authorised, qualified, and experienced personnel.
• Implement and ensure effective good husbandry practices and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control measures.
• Ensure relevant Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems are understood and implemented by staff under supervision.
• Coach, mentor, transfer knowledge, and deliver consolidation development to BAE Systems and RSAF personnel under supervision.
• Complete any other reasonable duties or requests made by appropriate line managers.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Education to HNC level or a recognised equivalent, or relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
• Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or a similar qualification in aircraft systems.
• Previous Typhoon Weapon Systems experience with a formal ‘Q’ annotation.
• Substantial post-qualification experience in military fast jet maintenance support, at a Senior Supervisor level within an operational military flying environment.
• Proven ability to manage all levels of engineering personnel.
• Good level of interpersonal skill to coordinate activities and the ability to communicate, influence, and direct decision-making.
• Good understanding of company processes and procedures, alongside industry knowledge.

Desirable Skills and Background

• An understanding of engineering operating procedures.
• Proven Managerial experience within the aerospace industry, preferably gained on 3rd and/or 4th Generation military aircraft at Senior Supervisor level or equivalent.
• Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country.
• The ability to act upon own initiative within the scope of the job.
• A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
• A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
• An understanding of ESS or a similar electronic-based reporting system.
