Faculty Position in Architectural Engineering & Construction Management

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level within the Architectural Engineering and Construction Management department. The department is seeking candidates with expertise and experience across several key areas, reflecting the evolving landscape of architectural engineering and construction management:

• Digitalization, Automation, and Smart Construction: Including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins, 3D Scanning, Sensors, IoT Technologies, Construction Monitoring, Simulation, Robotics, Automation, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Smart and Data-Driven Construction Practices, Extended Reality (AR/VR/MR), Blockchain for Design, Training, and Smart Contracts, AI, and Predictive Analytics for Construction Processes.
• Sustainable Energy and Built Environment: Covering Renewable and Low-Carbon Technologies for Buildings, Net-Zero Energy Strategies, Building Retrofitting, Energy Conservation, Management, Decarbonization, Circular Economy, Resource Efficiency, Sustainable Materials, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Carbon Footprint, Green Building Certifications, Climate Resilience, Urban Heat Island, and Urban Sustainability.
• Building Systems, Performance, and Human Health: Focusing on Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) (Thermal, Air Quality, Lighting, Acoustics), High-Performance Building Envelopes and Façade Systems, Advanced and Resilient Structural & Material Systems, Integrated Building Systems for Energy Efficiency and Occupant Well-being, Human-Centered Design for Health, Comfort, and Accessibility, Smart HVAC, Renewable Integration, and Grid-Interactive Buildings.
• Construction, Project, and Engineering Management: Encompassing Infrastructure and Megaproject Delivery Systems, Modular, Prefabricated, and Industrialized Construction, Lean, Agile, and Integrated Project Delivery Methods, Procurement and Logistics Optimization, Project Planning, Scheduling, Control, Maintenance Management, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Decision Support Systems, Risk, Safety, Quality, and Sustainability in Construction and Engineering Management, Construction Productivity, Economics, and Heavy Equipment Management.
• Smart Facilities, Operations, and Asset Management: Including Facilities Operation, Maintenance, Smart FM Systems, Fire Safety, Security, Risk, and Disaster Preparedness in Facilities, Real Estate, Property, and Asset Management, Post-Occupancy Evaluation and Building Performance Feedback, Digital Twins, Data-Driven Facility Lifecycle Management, Waste Management, and Recycling.

Core Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute significantly to the department through the following responsibilities:

• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in relevant specializations.
• Advising and mentoring students at various academic levels.
• Supervising Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) theses and dissertations.
• Developing and securing funding for research programs aligned with their field of specialization.

Required Qualifications

• A strong record of published research in peer-reviewed venues.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising the research of graduate students.
• Relevant teaching experience at the university level.

Experience Level

These roles are suitable for candidates with significant experience, generally exceeding 10 years, commensurate with the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks, and a proven track record in both academia and research.
