About the Opportunity

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Information and Computer Science to join its Department of Information and Computer Science. This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and involves significant contributions to both teaching and research within the university.

Role Context and Academic Focus

The Lecturer will play a crucial role in advancing the department's academic mission through active engagement in scholarly research and effective instruction. Candidates should possess specialized knowledge in one of the following key areas within Information and Computer Science:

• Software Engineering
• Databases
• Operating Systems
• Information and Computer Security
• Theoretical & Biological Computer Science
• Computer Science

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to dedicate approximately 35-40 hours per week to professional duties. Core responsibilities for this role include:

• Delivering teaching assignments effectively to students.
• Conducting research activities within the field.
• Providing academic advising and guidance to students.
• Performing assigned administrative duties for the department or university.
• Undertaking any other academic duties as directed by the concerned academic department.

Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Lecturer position:

• An earned Master’s degree from a reputable university in a relevant field.
• Completion of a full-time Master’s degree program with very good academic grades.
• Submission of a certificate equivalency if the degree was obtained from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
