The Role of Senior Lab Technologist (Genetic)

The Senior Lab Technologist (Genetic) performs a comprehensive range of clinical laboratory tests, encompassing both moderate and high complexity procedures. This role is crucial for obtaining accurate and precise data essential for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, operating across various specialized laboratory units including those focused on genetic analysis, in accordance with standard laboratory practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing using automated analyzers or manual techniques within assigned laboratory units, including Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology, Hematology, Molecular, Immunology, and Histology.
• Execute quality control and quality assurance tasks in strict adherence to laboratory policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with standards required for laboratory accreditation by agencies such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP), AABB, JCI, CBAHI, and SFDA.
• Participate in training programs for new staff members within the assigned unit.
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures and other job-related miscellaneous activities as required.
• Collect blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients via finger stick or venipuncture.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of SCFHS Classification and a Saudi MOH License as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Specialist.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required for this senior role.

The Senior Lab Technologist operates within a dynamic laboratory environment, performing tests across diverse units such as Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, Histology, and Transfusion Medicine.
