About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an IDS Tactics and Weapons Instructor to provide essential training to Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel. This full-time position is based in Dhahran, Eastern Province, and supports BAE Systems' commitment to the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of national capabilities.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver comprehensive training to RSAF IDS Pilots, Weapons System Officers (WSOs), and Instructors. The role involves acting as a liaison between local RSAF, Company Management, and BAE Systems. Additionally, the position includes supervising and managing the performance of aligned BAE Systems employees and undertaking the duties of the Head of Flying in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide air and ground instruction to RSAF Tornado IDS crew at all proficiency levels.
• Deliver the RFWS and Tornado IDS specialist expertise required for the development, operation, and maintenance of the IDS Weapons Instructor course syllabus.
• Supervise all BAE Systems activities related to the RFWS.
• Support RSAF Commanders on matters concerning RSAF training, BAE Systems recruitment, and flight safety.

Operational Context

BAE Systems operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under Government-to-Government arrangements, providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. This includes the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and training RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in the safe operation of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons within a dedicated training environment.
