About the Role

PE Global Healthcare is seeking an Operating Room Unit Manager for a full-time position in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia, covering cities such as Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Al Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Al Qatif, Ras Tannurah, Al Khafji, and Buqayq. This role provides strategic clinical leadership and maintains 24-hour accountability for an assigned Nursing and Clinical Services division/department.

Role Overview

The Operating Room Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, managing staffing, budgets, quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and staff engagement. The role ensures the achievement of organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintains high standards of patient care within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and management to nursing and clinical services managers and staff.
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Maintain 24-hour accountability for patient care, staffing levels, clinical standards, and operational performance.
  • Manage workforce planning, recruitment, staff development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs, patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, risk management, and staff engagement.
  • Develop and manage departmental manpower budgets, financial plans, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing based on patient acuity, service requirements, and operational needs.
  • Lead educational, training, and professional development programs to support staff progression.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary committees and contribute to senior management decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare accreditation, regulatory, and professional standards, including CBAHI, JCI, and IHI requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement and corrective action plans to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and key stakeholders to implement organizational initiatives and manage change.
  • Identify future leadership talent and ensure appropriate succession planning within the department.
  • Assess resource requirements and allocate budgets effectively to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as required by senior nursing leadership.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role within nursing and clinical services.

This is a full-time position located in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia, serving various cities including Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Al Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Al Qatif, Ras Tannurah, Al Khafji, and Buqayq.
