About the Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a Plastic Surgeon to provide attending and consulting surgical services to patients of all ages. This full-time role involves comprehensive pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care for major and minor plastic surgery procedures, ensuring efficient and effective patient care within an integrated program of curative and preventive medical services.

Scope of Work

The Plastic Surgeon will work within the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare Surgical Department across facilities in Dhahran, Al-Ahsa, Ras Tannurah, and Buqayq. Responsibilities include attending to ambulatory and hospitalized patients of all age groups, managing cases of varying complexity within the surgeon's expertise. The role operates under the supervision of the Chief of Surgical Services Division, adhering to established medical ethical and legal rules, and JHAH practices and procedures. Daily work involves managing and evaluating patient care quality within approved clinical privileges.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties as a plastic surgeon, providing expert medical-surgical care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients.
• Conduct daily rounds for assigned hospital patients, performing general and special examinations in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Serve as a consultant to other medical services for both in-patient and out-patient cases.
• Adhere to the By-laws and Rules and Regulations of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, ensuring work aligns with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals standards.
• Make recommendations to the supervisor regarding the medical repatriation of patients.
• Participate in and contribute to in-service activities such as lectures and conferences to stay current with the latest techniques, procedures, and drug therapy.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities.
• Supervise the work of staff surgeons and assistant surgeons, providing evaluations to the Chief of Service.

Professional Interactions

The Plastic Surgeon will have daily contact with patients and their relatives concerning surgical procedures, including discussions about operative procedures and potential complications with immediate family. Frequent interactions will occur with personnel from Surgical Services, nurses, and physicians to exchange information and resolve surgical problems. Occasional contact with counterparts within JHAH Medical Facilities may be required for consultation and advice on clinical evaluation and patient follow-up, with prior approval from the Chief of Surgery. Ongoing contact with JHAH managers is also expected.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in plastic surgery is required.
• Ability to manage and evaluate the quality of patient care within approved clinical privileges.
• Strong adherence to established medical ethical and legal rules in plastic surgery.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at the Dhahran Hospital facility, with work hours assigned to meet operational needs. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and adherence to the high standards set by Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare.
