About the Role

Eram Talent is collaborating with a prominent Oil & Gas organization in Saudi Arabia to recruit a Senior ASU Commissioning & Start-up Engineer. This contract position is based in the Eastern region, specifically in Dhahran and Al Jubail. The role requires a subject matter expert with over 10 years of dedicated experience in Air Separation Units (ASU), focusing on the design, optimization, and safe operation of cryogenic air separation processes.

Role Context

The Senior ASU Commissioning & Start-up Engineer will be responsible for ensuring peak production and strict safety compliance within high-purity oxygen environments. This involves providing technical leadership and expertise across various stages, from asset specification to troubleshooting and performance optimization of complex cryogenic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the specification and sizing of critical ASU assets, including high-pressure air compressors, air adsorption and dehydration systems, turboexpanders, Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchangers (BAHX), and cryogenic distillation columns.
• Oversee liquid oxygen and nitrogen storage and vaporization systems to ensure reliable peak production and backup supply.
• Provide hands-on leadership during cryogenic ASU commissioning, start-ups, and performance guarantee testing.
• Act as the primary technical authority for troubleshooting complex operational issues and optimizing Molecular Sieve Adsorption Systems (pre-purification units) for maximum moisture removal and regeneration cycle efficiency.
• Utilize advanced proficiency in Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II for calibrating process simulations for cryogenic air separation cycles and validating models against real-world plant data.
• Apply deep practical knowledge of Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Codes, championing safety standards related to oxygen compatibility and fire hazard management in high-purity oxygen environments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A proven track record of over 10 years in cryogenic ASU commissioning, start-up, and performance testing.
• Mastery of process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II, with specific expertise in cryogenic calibration.
• Deep understanding of the mechanical and thermodynamic principles underlying turboexpanders, BAHX, and distillation columns.
• Uncompromising commitment to process safety, demonstrated by expert knowledge of global codes and standards for handling compressed gases and cryogenic fluids.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional leadership skills.
