About the Role

Airbus ** is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I for Technical Shop Floor Support. This full-time position is based in Al Qatif and requires 0-1 years of experience. The role focuses on providing manufacturing assessment for non-conformities and supporting production with late changes, while also identifying continuous improvement opportunities within the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create specific work orders for Final Assembly Line (FAL) rework (Cabin, Systems, Electrics, or Structures by Station), establish and verify the technical content of non-conformities, and validate documentation.
  • Provide technical support to production on all issues, including oversight of directed changes.
  • Incorporate implicit knowledge into work instructions and refine them in terms of language, level of detail, and regulation assignment to ensure operations have correct information for aircraft build.
  • Initiate the availability of replacement parts, jigs, and tools required for work.
  • Manage continuous improvement measures for reoccurring non-conformities in cooperation with quality teams.
  • Participate as an active team member to support Manufacturing Engineering (ME) activities in the FAL.
  • Support the completion of the routing verification process (RVP) for new or updated processes as required.
  • Participate in learning and following dedicated training plans from current team members, including providing orientation support to new colleagues and trainees.
  • Respond to technical questions and explain work orders/drawings, particularly for aircraft mechanical related items.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with FAL production and serve as an interface to the on-site back office for work order adaptation.
  • Undertake additional assigned projects and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant manufacturing engineering role.
  • Ability to assess manufacturing non-conformities and support production changes.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and work order management.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role is based at the Airbus * Manufacturing Facility, which produces A320 Family and A220 aircraft. The position may involve working on flowlines and flightlines. The following physical abilities are required:

  • Vision: Ability to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Ability to participate in conversations in person, via teleconference or phone, and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Ability to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate most office and personal electronic equipment, and some production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying/Lifting: Ability to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting/Standing/Squatting/Kneeling: Ability to sit for long periods, stand for discussions, and squat or kneel to retrieve items.
  • Travel: Ability to travel independently and at short notice, potentially internationally.
  • Walking: Ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site and/or customer site. Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required.
