About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Fuel Systems Maintenance Technician to join their team in Al Majma'ah. This full-time position involves performing and supervising aircraft maintenance, component, and bay support activities specifically for engine, propeller, and fuel systems. The role also includes providing On the Job Training (OJT) and production inspections.

Role Responsibilities

The Fuel Systems Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a range of technical duties to ensure the operational capability of aircraft used in pilot training programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing aircraft servicing, fault troubleshooting and rectification, modifications, and inspections/evaluations of aircraft systems and components at an intermediate maintenance level.
  • Providing technical support for workshop equipment servicing, fault troubleshooting and rectification, modifications, and inspections/evaluations of components and test/support equipment.
  • Offering technical specialty support for the evaluation, interpretation, and determination of corrective actions for specialty-specific aircraft systems, components, and test/support equipment.
  • Conducting informal and formal OJT for both Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and BAE Systems Saudi National personnel to support the Saudisation of intermediate maintenance operations.
  • Troubleshooting, inspecting, removing, installing, repairing, modifying, and operating all engine, propeller, and fuel aircraft systems, components, and associated support and test equipment.
  • Obtaining and maintaining certifications necessary for specialty and aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Acquiring user expertise and becoming proficient with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system, MIRO Gold.
  • Understanding and complying with the RSAF Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Safety Programme.

Qualifications and Background

Candidates for this role will typically come from one of the following backgrounds:

  • Military service.
  • Civilian aircraft engineering support organizations that maintain civilian and/or military aircraft.
  • RSAF recognized Technical Training Schemes.

Additionally, candidates should be graduates of a military service or recognized civilian organization aircraft technical training institute. They must possess extensive experience or have completed RSAF recognized technical training provided by BAE Systems or another recognized civilian organization. Completion of PC9/PC21 Aircraft Systems Training courses or similar, appropriate to specialties, is also required.

Work Context

BAE Systems operates under Government-to-Government arrangements as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. This role directly supports the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and the training of RSAF personnel, ensuring they can safely operate their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.
