Control and Automation Engineer

About the Role

TIBAH Airports (Madinah) is seeking a Control and Automation Engineer to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah Province. This full-time role involves the design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and optimization of industrial control and automation systems. The engineer will ensure the reliable and safe operation of critical systems, including PLC, SCADA, BMS, DCS, instrumentation, control panels, and associated electrical systems, while supporting both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and various automation systems.
• Diagnose control-system faults and implement corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, control logic, sequences, and HMI interfaces.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for automation and control equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, actuators, control valves, relays, VFDs, and other instrumentation.
• Perform testing and commissioning of automation and control systems.
• Participate in system upgrades, modifications, and new automation projects.
• Participate in emergency and breakdown response activities as required.

Technical Review and Compliance

• Review electrical and control drawings, including control schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, I/O lists, instrumentation drawings, and cause & effect diagrams.
• Ensure automation systems comply with applicable safety, engineering, and company standards and procedures.
• Support SCADA/BMS integration and communication networks, including industrial communication protocols.

Collaboration and Documentation

• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, IT, and other engineering teams during troubleshooting and project execution.
• Support contractors and vendors during installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting phases.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for automation improvement and energy optimization.
• Prepare technical, maintenance, and test reports, along with equipment documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities, breakdowns, modifications, and system parameters.
• Maintain backups of PLC programs, HMI applications, configurations, and critical automation data.

Candidates for this position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in control and automation engineering.
