About the Akun Instructor Role

Red Sea Global (RSG), through its dedicated subsidiary Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE), is seeking a Full-time Instructor Akun to join its team in Tabuk, covering locations such as Umluj. RSSE is responsible for designing and delivering outstanding land and marine experiences at The Red Sea destination, managing a diverse portfolio of sports, adventure, and leisure offerings, including adventure activities via Akun. This role supports RSSE's strategic partnership with the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee, promoting inclusive, accessible, and world-class recreational experiences aligned with Saudi Vision 2030's ambition for regenerative tourism.

The Instructor plays a key frontline role, responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and memorable inland adventure experiences within the Akun Adventure portfolio. This position supports the ongoing development of diverse trails and adventure activities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences that meet Red Sea Sport & Entertainment standards. Candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support the operation of all inland, land-based adventure activities across The Red Sea destination.
  • Lead guests on Akun Adventure experiences, ensuring safety, engagement, and a premium outdoor experience.
  • Conduct clear and professional pre-activity briefings, including safety instructions, risk awareness, and experience expectations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, SOPs, RAMS, and emergency procedures during activities.
  • Educate guests on environmental awareness, conservation principles, and responsible outdoor behavior in line with RSSE sustainability values.
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming, and service-oriented approach when interacting with guests.
  • Monitor weather conditions, terrain, and guest capability, adjusting activity plans to ensure safety and experience quality.
  • Assist with trail exploration and assessment to identify optimal routes for high-end and safe adventure experiences.
  • Support trip planning, logistics, equipment preparation, and vehicle readiness prior to and during activities.
  • Provide feedback, operational insights, and incident reports to the Senior Instructor and RSSE management.
  • Support the maintenance and care of all adventure equipment, ensuring cleanliness, readiness, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in the training, mentoring, and development of Adventure Specialists and junior team members.
  • Promote and embody the Red Sea service style, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences.
  • Maintain positive and professional conduct with guests, colleagues, and stakeholders in all circumstances.

Operational Compliance and Continuous Improvement

The Instructor is expected to comply with all RSSE and Red Sea Global policies, processes, SOPs, and operational guidelines to ensure consistent and controlled service delivery. This includes supporting the preparation of accurate and timely operational reports and MIS data in line with corporate and departmental requirements. The role also involves contributing to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across adventure operations, systems, and guest experiences, aligning with international best practices and operational excellence.

Safety, Quality, and Environmental Stewardship

  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies to ensure employee and guest safety, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and responsible environmental practices.
  • Actively contribute to a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting risks, and supporting continuous risk mitigation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Wilderness First Aid or internationally recognized First Aid certification.
  • Basic Land Navigation training, including natural navigation and GPS usage.
  • Leave No Trace certification or equivalent environmental training.
  • Search, Tracking & Operations training.
  • Trekking / Mountain Leader certification (IFMGA, UIAA, or BMC preferred).
  • Additional National Governing Body (NGB) certifications from accredited providers (*, Mountain Biking, Climbing, Archery, High Ropes, Quad Biking).
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience within the tourism, adventure, or outdoor recreation industry; experience in Saudi Arabia is an advantage.

Work Environment and Key Stakeholders

This role operates primarily in outdoor and remote environments across The Red Sea destination, requiring physical fitness, environmental awareness, and flexibility in working hours. The Instructor is expected to represent Akun Adventure and Red Sea Sport & Entertainment with professionalism and integrity at all times. Key internal stakeholders include Senior Instructors, Adventure Operations, and RSSE Operations Teams, as well as Resort & Hospitality Teams. External interactions will involve guests, local authorities, and various environmental and outdoor activity partners.
