About the Life Guard Role

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Life Guard to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and maintaining a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere for guests within our recreation facilities. The role involves active observation, prompt emergency response, and upholding high facility standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Actively observe the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and struggling swimmers.
• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need of assistance.
• Provide immediate assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Identify situations where guests may not be able to safely participate in an activity and inform a supervisor or manager.
• Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.

Guest Services and Facility Standards

• Promote and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreation facility.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, mop, and clean the pool deck to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language; support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.

Operational Compliance and Physical Demands

• Follow company policies and procedures; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down ladders, stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• Experience: 0-1 years of related work experience; no supervisory experience required.
• Certifications:
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Fitness Equipment certification
  • Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, where you will contribute to a professional and respectful team environment, ensuring compliance with quality assurance expectations and standards. The role may require performing other reasonable job duties as requested.
