About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Project Director Infrastructure to lead major infrastructure and masterplan development projects across Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to projects in Jeddah. The role involves overseeing the planning, design, management, and successful delivery of complex multidisciplinary infrastructure programs for government entities, giga-project developers, and private-sector clients.

The Project Director will serve as a senior client-facing leader, responsible for driving project performance, ensuring technical excellence, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing strategic direction for major infrastructure programs aligned with Saudi Arabia's development agenda.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects throughout Saudi Arabia.
• Provide strategic leadership across the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and close-out.
• Establish project execution strategies, governance frameworks, delivery plans, and performance objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and quality standards.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams covering engineering, project management, commercial, planning, and specialist disciplines.
• Act as the primary client interface and trusted advisor for key projects and accounts, developing and maintaining strong relationships with government authorities, developers, and strategic stakeholders.
• Assume overall responsibility for project financial performance and commercial success, overseeing budgets, resource planning, forecasting, and profitability.
• Provide technical oversight and strategic direction, ensuring engineering solutions meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Ensure projects comply with contractual, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, leading risk management activities.
• Support strategic growth initiatives, participate in major bids, and identify opportunities for business expansion.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams, promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in project leadership roles within international engineering consultancies.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong technical engineering background, preferably in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated capabilities in project leadership, commercial management, stakeholder engagement, and client relationship management.
