The Role of Senior Microbiologist

Gandour is seeking a Senior Microbiologist for a full-time, on-site position based in Jeddah, Makkah. This role is central to ensuring product safety and compliance by overseeing microbiological testing across various stages of production. The Senior Microbiologist will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to meet both internal and external quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory activities and operations.
• Validate and maintain microbiological testing methods.
• Calibrate and monitor the performance of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure strict adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP).
• Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to investigate non-conformities.
• Support root-cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Contribute to internal and external audits and certification processes.
• Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff to enhance microbiological and quality control processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in microbiology, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and execute microbiological testing protocols.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment and Location

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Jeddah, Makkah. The role requires close collaboration with various internal teams, including quality assurance and production, within Gandour's operational facilities.
