About SGS and the Microbiologist Role

With over 93,000 employees and a network of more than 2,400 offices and laboratories worldwide, SGS is seeking a dedicated Microbiologist to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The Microbiologist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of various components and processes through rigorous microbiological testing and analysis. This position involves maintaining laboratory standards, identifying contaminants, and implementing corrective actions to uphold SGS's commitment to excellence and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain validation protocols for various environmental controls.
• Perform tests on component samples, identify contamination, analyze sources, and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities and conducted tests.
• Conduct tests on all incoming ingredients and document results thoroughly.
• Monitor physiological and morphological characteristics to identify microorganisms.
• Develop and prepare comprehensive documentation for all protocols.
• Execute routine equipment maintenance and calibration according to the preventive maintenance plan.
• Manage sample storage and disposal procedures.
• Report instances of non-conformances to appropriate line management.
• Ensure scheduled calibration of all equipment.
• Intervene and report any observed unsafe acts or conditions.
• Perform sample collection from designated sites.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant microbiology or laboratory testing role.

Work Setting and Location

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, within the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. The role operates primarily within a laboratory environment, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
