About the Role

Air Arabia is seeking an Airport Supervisor to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves assisting the Airport Manager in overseeing daily airport operations, ensuring safety, security, and operational efficiency in line with company policies and regulatory standards. The supervisor will also foster effective relationships with civil aviation authorities, Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), and General Sales Agents (GSAs) to optimize daily operations and achieve cost-effective results.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Airport Manager in monitoring operational and security functions, ensuring timely facilitation and smooth daily activities as per Air Arabia policies and procedures.
• Supervise briefings, debriefings, ramp operations, check-in, safety, and security matters, reporting deviations and delays to the Airport Manager for resolution.
• Liaise with the Airport Manager, Flight Operations, and MCC to manage Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations, emergencies, technical delays, disruptions, and service recovery.
• Report all incidents and accidents to the Airport Manager and Head Office using appropriate agreed formats and communication channels.
• Ensure all Dangerous Goods related incidents are immediately reported to respective local authorities and the headquarters.
• Issue instructive plans to all handling agent staff, supporting them in providing efficient passenger service and guiding them in critical complex situations.
• Ensure appropriate information is provided to the local authority if required and that all advisories or circulars received from Ground Operations are communicated to relevant personnel.
• Monitor handling agents' adherence to company policies, procedures, and respective legislations and regulatory requirements, reporting non-compliance for corrective measures.
• Oversee GHAs and GSAs, including performance, payments, meetings, and communication, recommending enhancements and changes to protect Air Arabia's financial interests and corporate image.
• Utilize delay and performance reports and data analysis to monitor customer service and payments, highlight trends, and identify gaps for improvement and problem resolution.
• Monitor the baggage handling system and trace lost luggage daily, conducting necessary investigations to resolve customer complaints and forwarding reports to the Airport Manager.
• Support Quality Assurance, Safety, and Security Departments in audit checks, ensuring staff adherence to corresponding standards and timely closure of findings.
• Monitor collections from Excess Baggage, Go Show, Wheelchair, and Seat Sales, and other airport revenue-generating services, supporting the airport team in meeting targets.
• Provide the Airport Manager and Head Office with necessary reports such as Flight Handling Reports, Disruption Reports, Incidents/Accidents Reports, and Customer Complaints Reports.
• Deputize the Airport Manager in their absence.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant working experience in the Airlines, Aviation, or GHA industry, specifically in passenger or ground handling.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, leading a team at a station with departure and arrival flights. Experience with a low-cost airline is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of IATA, Civil Aviation Authorities, and Regulatory Bodies’ rules and regulations pertaining to Ground Handling working procedures and operating standards.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Cargo, Ramp, Dispatch, or Load Control.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships within the Aviation Industry and Markets, with the ability to build credibility quickly.
• Familiarity with monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Capable of implementing policies, procedures, and manuals in line with industry standards and regulations.
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices affecting Ground Operations.
• Composed, self-confident, and focused, with the ability to handle emergencies with control.
• Possesses effective time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Dynamic with high accuracy and strong attention to detail.
