About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Internal Medicine & Adult Endocrinology to provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients in telemedicine settings. This full-time role, based in Jeddah, focuses on expert clinical care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of endocrine conditions, alongside general internal medicine needs. The Consultant will contribute to population health management and value-based care, aiming to improve patient outcomes through efficient healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and metabolic syndromes.
• Perform detailed patient histories and physical examinations, utilizing diagnostic tools such as blood tests, imaging studies, and endocrine function tests.
• Deliver high-quality medical consultations via telehealth, addressing internal and general medicine complaints.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education.
• Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education.
• Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe clinical care in endocrinology, adhering to established clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including audits and peer reviews, to assess clinical practices.
• Implement safety protocols to minimize risks and complications associated with endocrine treatments.
• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate quality department staff.
• Ensure satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, thorough history taking, empathy, clear explanation of diagnosis and management plans, and answering patient queries.

Collaboration and Professional Development

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care physicians, specialists, and nurses, to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
• Engage in regular case discussions and attend departmental meetings to contribute to the development of clinical pathways and treatment protocols.
• Facilitate referrals to and from other specialties based on patient needs and complex cases.
• Commit to ongoing professional development through continuing medical education (CME) activities, workshops, and conferences.
• Stay updated on advancements in endocrinology practices and technologies, ensuring compliance with health regulations and institutional policies.
