About Tractebel and the Role

Tractebel is seeking an Electrical & Lighting Inspector Saudi to join our team. This full-time role is based in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia, focusing on critical on-site inspection and verification of electrical and street lighting infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

The Electrical & Lighting Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and street lighting works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, safety protocols, and project timelines. The position requires practical expertise in installation inspection, electrical testing, quality checks, and comprehensive site documentation to maintain high standards throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect the installation of street lighting poles, cables, conduits, panels, feeder pillars, earthing systems, and related electrical infrastructure works.
• Verify site works against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Review inspection requests, checklists, material delivery records, test records, and other site documentation.
• Identify defects, non-compliant works, unsafe conditions, and quality issues, and follow up on corrective actions with contractors.
• Support testing and commissioning activities, including continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, functional tests, and lighting verification.
• Coordinate with engineers, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) teams, contractors, and commissioning teams during inspections and handover activities.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, site observations, snag lists, and progress notes.
• Support project close-out by verifying the completion of inspection records, testing documentation, and as-built information.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven work experience of at least 5 years in electrical and lighting inspection for infrastructure or construction projects.

Skills and Attributes

• Good knowledge of street lighting, cable installation, conduits, poles, panels, earthing systems, electrical testing, and installation quality requirements.
• Ability to inspect works against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and safety requirements.
• Strong site observation and documentation skills, with the ability to identify defects and follow up on corrective actions.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for effective interaction with engineers, contractors, QA/QC teams, and project stakeholders.
