About Alstom and the Role

Alstom, a global leader in sustainable and smart mobility solutions, is seeking a Quality Inspector Rolling Stock to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is suitable for professionals with 0-1 years of experience who are committed to ensuring high-quality standards in rolling stock activities. The role involves working within a collaborative and solution-driven environment to maintain the integrity of Alstom's mobility projects.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Quality Inspector Rolling Stock plays a critical role in applying expertise in quality assurance to Alstom's rolling stock retrofit activities. This position is central to ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual requirements, directly impacting project success. The inspector will work closely with various internal teams, including the Rolling Stock Retrofit, Logistics, Construction, and Procurement teams, to monitor quality targets and resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure strict application of the Quality System on-site, in line with the Alstom Quality Plan and contractual requirements.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with contractual technical requirements for rolling stock upgrades.
  • Coordinate with various teams on quality issues, site inspections, and incoming material inspections.
  • Prepare and verify quality records and checklists for each step of rolling stock processes.
  • Perform retrofit inspections and prepare inspection and test requests for site activities.
  • Follow up on and resolve internal site non-conformance reports (NCRs) and associated costs of non-quality (CONQ).
  • Interact with supplier quality teams and manage supplier NCRs.
  • Prepare and update registers for inspection testing requests, non-conformance reports, and calibration tests.
  • Address customer complaints and concerns promptly, providing appropriate feedback.
  • Contribute to the implementation and follow-up of the Power Master Punch List (MPL) and ensure readiness for Design for Quality (DFQ) processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • An engineering or university degree, with a preference for Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Experience or a foundational understanding of rolling stock activities and specialized processes such as torquing, crimping, riveting, and gluing.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with Excel tools for reporting and tracking purposes.
