About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Jeddah is seeking a Staff Nurse I for Nursing Recruitment and Retention. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care as assigned, following core standards of patient care, established policies, and evidence-based practices.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, including discharge planning for each patient.
• Contribute to decreasing length of stay and waiting times in line with unit-specific goals, collaborating with Case Management.
• Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and reductions in supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve continuous improvement in quality patient care.
• Act as an advocate for patients and their families.
• Identify ideas to improve patient care quality and issues that could negatively affect patient care outcomes, utilizing the professional practice framework.
• Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
• Contribute to cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in ordering and using staff, equipment, and materials.
• Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.
• Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Participate in new staff and nursing student orientation, assisting in maintaining a suitable learning environment and acting as a preceptor/mentor.
• Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
• Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model.
• Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and other’s education, training, and development, as applicable.

Leadership and Professional Development

The Staff Nurse I demonstrates leadership competencies when in charge or acting as a shift resource or team leader. This includes actively participating in performance improvement initiatives and fostering a learning environment for new staff and nursing students.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to apply the nursing process effectively.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to established nursing standards.
