About Lucid Motors Middle East

Lucid Motors Middle East is dedicated to advancing mobility experiences through innovation, driving the world forward with proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture. The company's vehicles are designed to redefine their segments by combining range, performance, design, and expansive space. Lucid achieves this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production managed in-house across global offices and manufacturing facilities. Teams from diverse industries are united by a commitment to excellence.

Role Overview: Mechanical Engineer, E-Motor/Dyno

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in E-Motor/Dyno for an internship position in Makkah, specifically in King Abdullah Economic City. This role is responsible for defining design intent assembly requirements for E-Motor Assemblies and Dyno metrics. The engineer will also conduct root cause analysis for product issues, develop and implement interim containment actions, and establish permanent corrective actions in collaboration with core engineering to ensure design and validation requirements are met. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing cross-functional teams and DU test and validation teams to resolve product and test specification issues.
  • Address complex component/system level product or multi-variable issues using standard problem-solving techniques for E-Motor assemblies.
  • Lead root cause analysis of End-of-Line (EOL) DU failures at the Dynamometer with manufacturing teams, utilizing systematic data analysis to identify issue sources.
  • Apply a strong understanding of engineering requirements for test specification acceptance criteria and their development into production EOL Dyno test specifications.
  • Partner with the DU test and validation team to correlate production dyno data with engineering validation data.
  • Champion the resolution of recurring production EOL Dyno fallout, addressing potential gaps in validation coverage in close collaboration with DU test and validation, and NVH teams.
  • Support the development of improved screening methodologies based on field and validation learnings.
  • Empower Manufacturing and Test engineers with the knowledge to triage failures from the Dynamometer to sustain operations.
  • Define design intent assembly requirements for E-Motor assembly, Dyno test specifications, and ensure their enforcement on the production line in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support new product launches and execute part concession deviations for E-Motor and Inverter assemblies in the manufacturing plant while maintaining product design intent.
  • Support high-volume production ramp activities related to product engineering.
  • Advise on build process development and potential improvements for high-volume production lines to ensure process variation remains within acceptable design intent tolerance limits.

Experience Required

  • Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly with E-Motors and Dyno systems.

Work Environment and Location

This internship position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, specifically within King Abdullah Economic City. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturing cross-functional teams and DU test and validation teams.
