Sr. Mechanical Engineer E motor/inverter

Position Overview

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, E-Motor/Inverter to join their team in Makkah, specifically in King Abdullah Economic City. This full-time role involves overseeing the design intent assembly requirements for E-Motor and Inverter Assemblies, along with their associated test specifications. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on ensuring design intent and validation requirements are met through close collaboration with core engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing cross-functional teams to resolve product issues and test specification-related concerns.
• Address complex component/system level product or multi-variable issues for E-Motor and Inverter assemblies using standard problem-solving techniques.
• Lead product change management to resolve known product compatibility issues for high-volume production or existing product design issues, working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure design intent assembly requirements for E-Motor/Inverter assemblies are met and enforced on the production line in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct product-level risk assessments for unintended process, equipment, and part deviations.
• Serve as the product engineering representative in the plant for E-Motor and Inverter Mechanical subsystems.
• Perform data-driven proactive problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue avoidance related to process deviations or critical part quality issues.
• Support new product launches and manage part concession deviations for E-Motor and Inverter assemblies in the manufacturing plant without compromising design intent.
• Contribute to high-volume production ramp activities concerning product engineering.
• Provide guidance on build process development and potential improvements for high-volume production lines to ensure process variation remains within acceptable design intent tolerance limits.

Problem Solving and Analysis

This role is responsible for conducting root cause analysis of product issues, developing, verifying, and implementing interim containment actions, and establishing permanent corrective actions where applicable. This involves a strong focus on data-driven approaches to identify and resolve issues proactively, ensuring product quality and design integrity.

Collaboration and Leadership

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will work closely with various cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and core engineering, to champion product issues to resolution and lead product change management initiatives. The ability to collaborate effectively and provide technical guidance is essential for success in this position.
