About the Role

Yo AI Labs is seeking an Arabic Language Expert to join its remote team. This contract role, based in Makkah, involves contributing to the improvement of premier AI models through expert linguistic evaluation and content generation. It is an hourly paid position offering flexible work-from-anywhere hours.

Role Overview and Impact

The Arabic Language Expert will play a crucial role in enhancing AI model performance by reviewing AI-generated Arabic and English responses and creating high-quality bilingual training content. This involves evaluating the quality of reasoning and step-by-step problem-solving, providing expert feedback to ensure AI models produce accurate, logical, and clearly explained answers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess AI-generated solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to specified prompts.
• Identify errors in methodology, conceptual understanding, and reasoning gaps within AI responses.
• Conduct thorough fact-checking to validate information presented by AI models.
• Develop and write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods and reasoning.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness, reasoning quality, and overall effectiveness.
• Create detailed prompts and responses in various topics to guide AI learning, ensuring comprehensive understanding across diverse subjects. English proficiency (minimum C1) is required for this task.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to optimize model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance. English proficiency (minimum C1) is required for this task.
• Test AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases, validating their reliability across different use cases. English proficiency (minimum C1) is required for this task.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Arabic Language, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic, demonstrating strong writing and editing skills across Modern Standard Arabic and at least one major dialect; Egyptian Arabic is preferred.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency (reading and writing) to facilitate bilingual evaluation and ensure adherence to instructions.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in areas such as translation, localization, editorial quality assurance, content quality, or linguistic review.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to consistently apply detailed rubrics in a high-volume, hourly contractor work setting.
• Proven strong fact-checking habits and comfort in validating claims using reputable sources as required by task guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to identify reasoning gaps, methodological errors, and unclear explanations, even when language appears fluent.
• Comfort and effectiveness working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment, maintaining reliable availability and communication.
• Preferred: Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluation workflows.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Arabic localization conventions for the MENA region, including terminology, formatting, and cultural nuance.

Work Arrangement and Future Opportunities

This is a fully remote, hourly paid contractor role offering flexible work-from-anywhere hours. Please note that there is no immediate project for this position. However, qualified candidates will be among the first experts contacted when relevant opportunities arise, gaining access to future projects available through our expert network.
