About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Dir-Revenue Management-Cluster in Makkah. This full-time role is responsible for balancing the financial objectives of various lodging products to maximize total revenues across all hotels within the market. The Director oversees pricing, positioning, and inventory management, along with processes related to demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting, and opportunity analysis. The position contributes to and recommends sales strategies for transient customers and serves as a primary contact for key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Dir-Revenue Management-Cluster provides functional expertise and leadership to general managers, property leadership teams, and market sales leaders. This role involves comprehensive analysis, strategic planning, and effective communication to drive revenue growth and market share.

Revenue Management Analysis and Reporting

  • Identifies underlying principles and facts by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results through reports and presentations.
  • Analyzes information to identify current and potential problems, proposing effective solutions.
  • Observes, receives, and obtains information from all relevant sources, ensuring timely report submission.
  • Maintains accurate reservation system information and supports cluster selling initiatives.
  • Analyzes period-end and other available systems data to identify trends, future need periods, and obstacles.
  • Generates updates on the transient segment and continually analyzes booking patterns.
  • Assists with pricing analyses for all products in the market and validates conclusions from account diagnostics.

Strategic Planning and Implementation

  • Contributes to the execution of predetermined revenue strategies.
  • Provides critical input to market leaders for the development of property and overall market sales strategy.
  • Ensures hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives.
  • Communicates, implements, and modifies sales strategies and rate restrictions as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Prepares sales strategy meeting agendas, supporting documentation, and leads property or cluster meetings.
  • Conducts sales strategy analysis and refines approaches to increase market share for all properties.
  • Assists with the development of 6-month, 12-month, and 2-year strategic action plans for cluster transient revenues.
  • Manages inventory to maximize cluster rooms revenue and provides input on business evaluation recommendations.
  • Provides recommendations for Business Transient Sales account strategies and leads efforts to coordinate strategies between group sales offices.
  • Regularly checks distribution channels for hotel positioning, information accuracy, and competitor positioning.
  • Ensures property diagnostic processes (PDP) are utilized to maximize revenue and profits.
  • Initiates, implements, and evaluates revenue tests, providing recommendations to improve process effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders, including hotel General Managers, sales leaders, franchisees, owners, and the regional team.
  • Communicates brand initiatives, demand, and market analysis to hotels, clusters, franchise partners, and owners.
  • Informs and updates executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with 1 year of experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
  • OR a 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with no work experience required.
