Financial Controller

About the Role

Americana Foods is seeking a Financial Controller for its Frozen Solutions unit. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves managing financial operations and supporting decision-making for the unit. The role requires a professional with over 10 years of experience in finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure financial statements comply with local regulations (*, CT, VAT, WHT) and international standards such as IFRS or SOCPA.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Coordinate external audits and regulatory filings.
• Prepare financial materials for board meetings.
• Monitor budget performance through variance analysis.
• Prepare and update cash flow forecasts and working capital requirements.
• Liaise with external vendors, including insurance providers, supplier finance teams, and local banks, on matters related to the Saudi entity.
• Monitor the compliance of third-party suppliers with contractual obligations regarding service receipts, payments, and commissions.
• Review all external payments, including LC and BG processes, with the Head of Accounts Payable.
• Review and improve policies related to third-party suppliers of labor, goods, and services, covering contracts, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.

Process Improvement and Systems

• Utilize financial systems and tools to streamline operations.
• Update and maintain accounting manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Embrace emerging technologies, such as AI, for enhanced financial analysis.
• Leverage ERP systems, Power BI, and planning platforms to improve data-driven decision-making.

Team Leadership and Development

• Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Compliance, and General Ledger functions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Contribute to the learning and development of the finance team.
• Actively contribute to Saudization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant financial role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations, including AR, AP, GL, Tax, and Compliance.
• Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis tools like Power BI.
• Strong understanding of local financial regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS or SOCPA).

Internal and External Relationships

The Financial Controller will communicate internally with Finance Directors, Finance Team Members, Sales & Supply Chain Function Leads, and Legal. External communication will involve ERP teams and universities for talent development.
