Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor to join their team in Makkah. This full-time role involves overseeing the cleanliness and quality standards of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. The supervisor will play a key role in coordinating housekeeping operations and maintaining efficient communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities such as the pool after cleaning to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Prepare room availability reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies, and prioritize cleaning schedules.
• Update the status of departing guests and assist the Housekeeping Department with daily operational management.
• Act as a liaison to coordinate efforts between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments.
• Document and resolve room discrepancy issues in collaboration with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes to assignment sheets or work boards.
• Communicate all operational issues effectively to the next shift and complete all required paperwork.
• Assist management with various tasks including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.

Operational Duties and Standards

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, maintaining the privacy of company information and protecting company assets.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect, contributing to team goals and meeting quality assurance expectations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running, walking, and jogging.
• Capability to read and visually verify information in various formats and inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Proficiency in entering and locating work-related information using computers or point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Capacity to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, and to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs, and to ascend and descend stairs and/or service ramps.
• Continuous use of manual dexterity and motor skills, frequently employing both hands and fine motor functions.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing 55 pounds ( kg) or less without assistance, and more than 55 pounds ( kg) with assistance.
• Capability to push and pull a loaded maintenance cart and other work-related machines on sloping and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods or very frequently during the entire work shift.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Communication Skills

• Ability to listen and respond appropriately to other employees' issues.
• Capability to speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
