About the DevOps Engineer Role

TAGMATIX360 is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for a professional with 5-10 years of experience in supporting and optimizing Linux systems and infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical systems through advanced troubleshooting, automation, and proactive infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for Linux systems, resolving complex incidents and ensuring operational continuity.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS issues, including boot failures, kernel problems, service disruptions, package management, system upgrades, and migrations.
• Perform OS patching, vulnerability management, and system hardening to maintain security standards.
• Optimize Linux system performance across CPU, memory, storage, and NVIDIA GPU workloads.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Ansible, Puppet, Bash, and Python.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle through GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies, including SLURM, AWS DCV, Docker, and Kasm Workspaces.
• Configure and maintain scientific runtime environments utilizing Lmod/Environment Modules.
• Administer Linux agents such as Automox, Nessus, and Puppet for system management and security.
• Support NFS/SMB storage solutions and troubleshoot containerized workloads.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement preventive automation improvements.
• Coordinate effectively with broader infrastructure teams for issues extending beyond the VDI layer.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of professional experience in a DevOps or Linux System Administration capacity. A strong background in the following areas is essential:

• Extensive experience with Linux operating systems, including advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, Puppet, Bash, and Python.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Experience with VDI technologies, including SLURM, AWS DCV, Docker, and Kasm Workspaces.
• Familiarity with scientific runtime environment management tools like Lmod/Environment Modules.
• Knowledge of Linux agents for system management and security, such as Automox and Nessus.
• Understanding of network file systems (NFS/SMB) and containerized workload troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement proactive system improvements.

This is a full-time position based in Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
