About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Site Manager for an EHV Substation project. This full-time role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves overseeing all activities related to the construction, building, and commissioning of customer sites. The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality of work and will operate within a well-defined operational framework, ensuring adherence to standard procedures.

Project Leadership and Customer Engagement

As the overall Site Lead Manager, you will be responsible for the timely execution of the Sub-Station Project. This includes serving as the primary GE Site Representative for the customer, maintaining a high level of customer relationship and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. You will also support the ITO Team by conducting site visits for electrical and associated works, providing detailed technical reports on primary equipment systems for substation projects.

Site Management and Operational Oversight

• Establish the GEV Site Management Process, Site Environment Health & Safety Policy Plan, Security, Housekeeping, Fire Protection, and Quality Assurance Policy on the construction site.
• Implement the overall Project Safety Program, ensuring adherence to National, Regional, and Local Regulatory Safety & Health Codes.
• Establish site infrastructure, rules, regulations, organization, resources plan, and monthly expense costing details.
• Ensure corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented, establishing project-specific procedures and objectives as needed.
• Plan and schedule all site execution activities, coordinating with the project planning & cost controller to review performance.
• Monitor and analyze project safety, cost, schedule, and quality performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Control project expenditures for equipment, material, and services to ensure field operations remain within budget.
• Manage all activities with sub-contractors (Civil, MEP, Electrical, Testing & Commissioning), planning daily tasks.
• Coordinate with the customer for day-to-day activities and provide daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Review installation drawings, ensure execution according to specifications, and forecast critical tasks/material requirements to prevent delays.
• Implement all installation method statements and risk assessments.
• Receive equipment/materials and arrange inspections with the client, reporting non-conformances related to failures.
• Monitor and control the safety and security of site materials.
• Develop red markup drawings for modifications as per site requirements for As-Built Drawings and report ROE for completed project activities.
• Control and oversee Site Engineer responsibilities in case of absence or non-assignment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Site Construction of 380 KV EHV Sub-Station Projects.
• Must have received approval from Saudi Energy Company as a Site Manager on previous projects.
• Demonstrated ability to implement GEV Site Management Process, Site Environment Health & Safety Policy Plan, Security, Housekeeping, Fire Protection, and Quality Assurance Policy on construction sites.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong technical knowledge of Electrical Systems, including EHV, HV, MV, and LV equipment erection works.
• Understanding of Electrical Standards (IEC) and local regulations.
• Proficiency in overall site execution coordination with all internal functions and external sub-contractor agencies for daily electrical installation works.
• Ability to maintain transparent communication with customers and consultants regarding daily site activities and progress updates.
• Acquainted with systematic Major Sub-station Equipment Erection Sequential Processes and knowledge of Testing & Commissioning Works.
• Strong safety awareness and understanding of processes for working in live substations.
• Familiarity with project progress documentation and reporting processes.
• Experience in site materials storage, safety, and security handling of project equipment and materials.
