The Role of a Lean Systems Engineer

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking a Lean Systems Engineer to join its team in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role supports the development and implementation of the Lucid Production System (LPS) by driving lean manufacturing initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Lean Systems Manager, the position requires a hands-on, shop-floor-focused approach to cultivate a strong lean culture and enable continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

The Lean Systems Engineer applies core lean methodologies, including problem-solving, standardization, waste elimination, and process optimization, to support operational teams and lead improvement projects. This role involves partnering with employees at all levels to identify inefficiencies, implement sustainable solutions, and strengthen daily management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of Lucid Production System principles across all operational areas.
  • Optimize employee engagement in all Lucid Production System programs.
  • Assist in eliminating roadblocks to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and coaching in lean principles and their applications to all levels and functions.
  • Facilitate LPS program review meetings.
  • Conduct layered audits and process reviews.
  • Lead and support departmental Gemba walks.
  • Monitor departmental performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for reducing costs and improving productivity, utilization, and quality.
  • Support Manufacturing initiatives to ensure factory performance objectives are met across all key performance areas.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Lean tools, systems, and procedures for lean programs, with a current emphasis on problem-solving, performance management, continuous improvement, 6S (5S plus Safety), and standardization.
  • Champion regular Kaizen workshops with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize Business Process Automation tools for proper monitoring of operation performance.
  • Manage work instruction software, ensuring standard compliance, and authoring and controlling necessary changes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in lean manufacturing or a similar operational excellence role.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying core lean methodologies such as problem-solving, standardization, waste elimination, and process optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead improvement projects and drive lean initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Compensation and Work Environment
