The Role of Maintenance Engineer

Novotel Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a full-time position in Makkah. This role involves overseeing and executing maintenance activities across various systems and equipment within the hotel, ensuring operational reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance for electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
Monitor equipment condition and performance to identify potential failures and minimize operational downtime.
Lead troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair activities for electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
Participate in new machinery installation, commissioning, testing, and production transfer projects, ensuring maintenance requirements are met.
Contribute to machine construction, modification, overhaul, refurbishment, and revision activities.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, technical procedures, and standards for assigned equipment.
Analyze recurring equipment failures and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to implement corrective actions.
Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Coordinate with operational departments to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
Manage and maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, and technical documentation.
Support the development and implementation of maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability and response time.
Manage spare parts and maintenance materials, including stock monitoring and timely replenishment.
Review technical specifications and support the selection and procurement of spare parts, tools, and services.
Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialized maintenance and inspections.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and company requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and electrical/mechanical installations.
Assist in preparing maintenance budgets, annual plans, and capital expenditure proposals.
Review equipment manuals, technical drawings, and manufacturer recommendations for proper maintenance.
Support the implementation and improvement of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Train, guide, and support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, repair, and safe working practices.
Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and completed within required timeframes.
Participate in equipment performance reviews, reliability improvement programs, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
Maintain technical readiness to respond to urgent breakdowns and critical equipment failures.
Recommend technical improvements, equipment upgrades, and process modifications.
Perform other assigned maintenance and engineering responsibilities.

Experience and Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in a relevant maintenance engineering role.
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Experience with maintenance record-keeping and technical documentation.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance in maintenance operations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a hotel environment as part of a dedicated maintenance team, contributing to the overall operational excellence of Novotel Hotels.
