About KBR and the Role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) delivers comprehensive solutions across the entire asset lifecycle, encompassing licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions for optimizing assets. KBR is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team in Makkah or Rabigh. This is a full-time position focused on ensuring worker safety within Oil & Gas Facilities.

Role Overview

The Safety Officer will be responsible for conducting safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to uphold the safety standards for personnel engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities. This role involves proactive inspection, observation of work practices, accident investigation, and ensuring compliance with established safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure worker safety in Oil & Gas Facilities, including safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and other tools. Replace items that do not meet safety requirements.
Observe work crews to identify and report any non-compliance with safety precautions, such as the failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, or other safety devices.
Examine the condition of ditches and tunnels, recommending the use of braces to prevent cave-ins that could endanger workers.
Investigate accidents to determine their causes and develop preventive measures.
Instruct workers on the proper use of safety equipment and safe work methods, as needed.
Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures.
Encourage the reporting of unsafe acts and conditions among personnel.
Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) procedures before and during work activities.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within Oil & Gas Facilities.
Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
Experience in accident investigation and implementing corrective actions.
Knowledge of safety equipment and safe work methodologies.
