Senior Design Electrical Engineer SHQJEDD

About the Role

Tractebel is seeking a Senior Design Electrical Engineer to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing design works, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and ensuring the preparation of accurate specifications. The position requires internal coordination with various disciplines and a strong focus on design review processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications for electrical designs.
• Coordinate design reviews with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage design works in collaboration with contractors and consultants.
• Facilitate internal coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Review EPC submitted engineering documents related to the Electrical discipline, including Master Documents List (MDL), Design criteria, Schematic diagrams, SLDs, Interface drawings, Load lists, and Electrical Equipment GA drawings.
• Review and verify design calculations and studies.
• Review manuals and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required, including reviewing FAT procedures and reports.
• Review construction, commissioning reliability, and performance test procedures and reports.
• Review method statements for construction and installation.
• Conduct vendor materials procurement review and review proposed vendors'/suppliers' designs and drawings.
• Manage design and field changes as needed.
• Review as-built drawings and conduct electrical HAZOP.
• Perform risk assessment and mitigation.
• Review IFC/AFC/AFI drawings, red markup, and as-built drawings.
• Evaluate claims and change orders.
• Contribute to the close-out report of the LSTK Steam Power Plant Gas Conversion Project.
• Manage all design review scope and activities for base and detailed engineering submittals, drawings, and documents.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in design and engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant International Standards.
• Proficiency in relevant design software.
• Well-versed in MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Management Information Systems (MIS).

• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities.

Work Location

This position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with potential work in Jeddah. It is a full-time role within the Tractebel team.
