Supervisor Housekeeping

About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Supervisor Housekeeping to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position involves overseeing housekeeping operations to ensure compliance with quality standards across rooms, public areas, and facilities. The role requires assisting housekeeping management in daily activities and coordinating efforts between various departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Control rooms, public areas, and the swimming pool after housekeeping attendant service to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist housekeeping management in the daily management of activities.
• Ensure effective coordination between housekeeping, engineering, front desk, and laundry departments.
• Report on rented rooms, check room status, identify unsuitable rooms, prioritize cleaning, and update the status of departing guests' rooms.
• Document and resolve issues related to unsuitable rooms with the front desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in assignment sheets and schedules.
• Report unresolved issues to the next team.
• Perform required administrative tasks.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, reminding of disciplinary rules, motivating, and coaching employees.

Operational Duties and Standards

• Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, accident hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support all colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect; support the team in achieving common goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Enter and retrieve work-related information using computers and POS systems.
• Listen and respond appropriately to guest and other employee concerns, using clear and courteous language in all communications.
• Perform all other tasks requested by managers consistent with the position.

Physical Requirements

• Move at the required speed to respond to work situations (*, running, walking, jogging).
• Read and visually verify information in various formats (*, small print).
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery (*, to identify defects).
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights requiring excellent motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces; move on sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces or steps; ascend and descend stairs and service ramps.
• Continuous use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and excellent motor skills.
• Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds (25 kg) without assistance, and over 55 pounds (25 kg) with assistance.
• Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work equipment on sloped and uneven surfaces.
• Stand, kneel, sit, or walk for extended periods or at a high frequency for a full shift.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in housekeeping operations, preferably within a hotel or resort environment. A strong understanding of quality standards and operational coordination is essential for this role.
