Senior MEP Engineer

About the Role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to join their team in Neom, Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing technical leadership for the completion, commissioning, and handover of a major water infrastructure project. The position focuses on leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) completion activities as the project enters its close-out phase.

Role Context and Objectives

The Senior MEP Engineer will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure MEP systems are successfully installed, tested, commissioned, documented, and handed over according to project requirements. Key objectives include construction completion, punch list closure, defect resolution, operational readiness, and handover activities to support the successful delivery and close-out of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead MEP completion and close-out activities across water infrastructure assets and facilities.
• Monitor contractor progress against completion schedules and handover milestones.
• Coordinate the resolution of technical issues, defects, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and punch list items.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, system integration, and performance verification activities.
• Review commissioning documentation, test records, completion dossiers, and turnover packages.
• Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved specifications, project requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate handover activities, including as-built documentation, asset registers, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, training records, and warranty documentation.
• Act as the primary technical interface between contractors, consultants, operations teams, and client representatives during project close-out.
• Support quality inspections, operational readiness reviews, and final acceptance processes.
• Promote safety, technical excellence, and compliance with project procedures, regulatory requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field. The position requires a strong background in MEP engineering, particularly within major infrastructure projects, with a focus on project completion, commissioning, and handover phases.

Work Environment
