Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a dedicated Cost Controller to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. The company operates within the Oil & Gas sector, focusing on mechanical projects, and is committed to maintaining financial discipline across its operations.

Role Overview: Cost Controller

The Cost Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing costs for mechanical projects within the Oil & Gas sector. This full-time role specifically focuses on Shutdown/Turnaround, Projects, and LFC/MFC/EPC Contracts, ensuring that all projects remain within their allocated budgets through meticulous monitoring, analysis, and reporting of cost data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and update cost estimates for projects to ensure costs are within expected ranges.
  • Prepare and analyze comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between project forecasts and budgets.
  • Organize, monitor, and control project costs in accordance with contractual requirements, objectives, and Company procedures.
  • Coordinate with departments such as human resources, payroll, accounting, and finance to ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Ensure all project commitments are accurately reported and maintain updated final project forecasts and expenditure forecasts.
  • Proactively advise management when forecasted costs exceed the approved budget and recommend corrective actions.
  • Utilize statistical tools to analyze cost metrics and perform risk analysis.
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with external clients as needed.
  • Analyze cost reports and extract required data for management reporting.
  • Prepare and report cost engineering information on a monthly basis and as required for management.
  • Identify critical areas and inform management regarding project delays.
  • Coordinate with the project management team to resolve project issues and ensure project delivery/completion.
  • Provide cost engineering expertise and coordinate activities as a group/unit leader for cost portions of Oil & Gas industry projects.
  • Review and analyze all claims and Change Orders on project contracts.
  • Participate in the negotiation of project contracts as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong background in mechanical engineering, finance, or accounting from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the oil and gas maintenance, Shutdown, and Turnaround sectors is essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. The role requires active engagement within project teams and coordination with various stakeholders in the Oil & Gas industry.
