Second Commis Pastry

About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Second Commis Pastry to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This is a full-time position requiring 0-1 years of experience, focusing on the preparation and cooking of pastry items according to established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use.
• Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances to prepare baked foods.
• Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.

Food Safety and Hygiene

• Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene.
• Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues to management.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, set up and break down workstations, and follow sanitation and cleaning procedures.

Workplace Standards and Conduct

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with others, including answering telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
• Comply with all quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Capability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
