About the Electrical Design Engineer Role

Highest Talent Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Region. This role requires a professional with a proven track record in the manufacturing of high-voltage power transformers, specifically those rated at 380 kV and above. The position offers a total salary range of SAR 10,000 to SAR 12,000.

Core Responsibilities

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing optimal electrical designs and estimating transformer costs according to customer specifications. This includes performing detailed electrical design calculations, utilizing design software such as iTRACS, and finalizing designs. The role also involves conducting cooling calculations, managing material orders, and producing necessary customer documentation and shopfloor drawings. Support will be provided to Mechanical and Control design teams with essential input data. Furthermore, the engineer will prepare all supporting calculations for offer submittals, base design submittals, and design validation. This includes generating winding tables, core sheets, insulation kits, connection and lead drawings, phase assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and production. The role may also require supporting the Testing department with test instructions and potentially meeting with clients to understand their requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar role within a reputable power transformer manufacturer. A strong understanding of electrical design rules and guidelines pertinent to power transformers is essential. Proficiency in various electrical design software and familiarity with FEM analysis are required. The role also necessitates very good English language skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Key Technical Skills

• Electrical design calculations for high-voltage power transformers (380 kV and above).
• Proficiency in design software (*, iTRACS) and FEM analysis.
• Preparation of technical documentation, including drawings and BOMs.
• Understanding of transformer manufacturing processes and materials.

Work Context

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Region. The role involves close collaboration with internal design, production, and testing departments, and may require client interaction. The required experience level is between 2 to 5 years.
