About the Internship

Vallourec is seeking a Sourcing Intern to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This internship is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are looking to develop a career in Procurement and Supply Chain. The role provides practical experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, market research, and procurement operations, while supporting daily purchasing activities.

Role Overview

The Sourcing Intern will collaborate with experienced procurement professionals, assisting in supplier identification, quotation evaluation, cost analysis, and contributing to sourcing initiatives that align with operational and business objectives. This position is suitable for students or recent graduates aiming to enhance their commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and understanding of procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain updated purchasing records, data, and pricing within the system.
Execute and monitor all regular purchasing duties.
Coordinate with user departments and suppliers regarding purchasing scope for assigned projects.
Assist in managing and following up on local and overseas orders.
Handle and monitor claims to factories and vendors for defectives, shortages, or missing parts.
Support relevant departments with quotations for tender purposes.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
Prepare and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Negotiate for optimal purchasing packages (quality, price, terms, delivery, and service) with assigned suppliers and sub-contractors.
Purchase and issue orders according to specifications.
Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products.
Source new parts, suppliers, or sub-contractors as needed.
Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items with local and overseas suppliers.

Accountabilities

Source, select, and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services with suppliers.
Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure timely delivery to site/store.
Manage vendor registration and modification of bank data for ME entities.

Required Qualifications

Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a relevant field.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
General computer literacy.
