About the Role

Saudi Mechanical Industries Co. (SMI) is seeking a Valves Sales Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time position involves developing new sales opportunities and promoting SMI Energy’s valve products and partner solutions within the Saudi Arabian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate qualified leads and develop new sales opportunities within assigned territories and market segments.
  • Promote SMI Energy’s valve products and technical partner solutions to end users, EPCs, contractors, OEMs, and industrial clients.
  • Secure inquiries, identify project opportunities, and actively follow up to convert them into booked orders.
  • Maintain regular customer visits and cultivate strong market relationships.
  • Identify opportunities in both project and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) businesses.
  • Prepare techno-commercial offers in coordination with technical support teams.
  • Follow up on quotations, bid clarifications, technical approvals, and commercial negotiations until order awarding.
  • Support the achievement of sales targets, order intake, and margin objectives.
  • Monitor market activities, competitors, pricing trends, and customer developments.
  • Identify new market sectors, applications, and customer accounts for business expansion.
  • Support vendor registration and approval activities with major end users and EPCs.
  • Represent SMI Energy professionally during customer meetings, technical discussions, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Coordinate with Technical Partners and internal teams regarding technical clarifications, product selection, and application support.
  • Develop an adequate understanding of the company’s Valves Product portfolio specifications, applications, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical presentations, product awareness, and recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline, customer visit reports, and opportunity tracking.
  • Provide regular updates on sales activities, market developments, and forecasted opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and commercial governance requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in industrial valves sales, Oil & Gas, or related industrial products.
  • Exposure to Ball, Plug, Control, and Butterfly Valves is preferred.
  • Experience in the KSA industrial and project market is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPC contractors, end users, and industrial customer environments.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel across KSA.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, within the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The role requires travel across the Kingdom.
