About the Role

alfanar Group is seeking a General Accountant to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves performing various financial activities, including preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and variance analysis.
Support in the preparation of year-end financial reports and documentation.
Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure all balances are accurate.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances in financial data.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting principles.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Perform the invoicing process, ensuring accurate billing to clients and proper payment processing.
Follow up accounts payable, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections from customers and following up on overdue accounts.
Assist management in analyzing financial data and performance to support decision-making.
Monitor and track expenses to ensure the company stays within budget.
Assist in cost control measures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Controller.

Accountabilities and Compliance

Maintain updated soft and technical skills relevant to the job and develop a career path plan.
Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within schedules and efficient cost.
Solve arising problems and escalate complex operational issues as needed.
Ensure quality requirements are met, including developing effective quality control and processes.
Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
Comply with all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

2-5 years of experience in a general accounting role.
Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and maintain accurate financial records.
Proficiency in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
