The Role: Accountant

IDP Education is seeking a full-time Accountant to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is central to managing all finance and accounts-related operations at the local country level, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries and maintain an accurate Trial Balance.
• Prepare comprehensive Financial Statements using an ERP system to support audit file preparation.
• Stay informed on KSA Tax law for quarterly and yearly GST/VAT submissions.
• Prepare tax schedules and apply tax rules to assist in the preparation of tax reports and returns.
• Reconcile daily collection receipts and compile entries for General Ledger accounts.
• Document accounting transactions in adherence to internal and external stakeholder procedures.
• Assist with external audit preparations, discussions, and provide support to the Finance Manager and auditors.
• Ensure strict application of the company's financial policies and procedures.
• Identify and report any financial inconsistencies or problems to management.
• Undertake additional finance-related projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• An Accounting degree or equivalent qualification (*, AUC or "English Section").
• Mandatory experience with ERP systems and other financial applications.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding and practical experience in accounting practices and principles.

Experience Profile

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience, with a preference for up to 10 years, in key accounting functions. This includes extensive experience in bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, and taxation.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires on-site presence to manage local financial operations effectively.
