About Tabby and the Role

Tabby is seeking a dedicated AML Officer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for supporting the implementation and daily operation of Tabby’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) framework. The role involves ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal financial crime policies.

Role Overview

As an AML Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding Tabby against financial crime risks. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting transaction monitoring, performing Know Your Customer (KYC) and sanctions screening activities, and thoroughly investigating any potentially suspicious activity. This position ensures robust compliance with SAMA requirements and Tabby's internal financial crime policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct transaction monitoring and review alerts to identify potentially suspicious or unusual activity.
  • Perform KYC and customer due diligence reviews in line with AML/CTF policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct sanctions and watchlist screening, escalating potential matches for further investigation.
  • Investigate suspicious transactions and customer activity, documenting findings and recommendations appropriately.
  • Support the preparation and submission of suspicious transaction/activity reports in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Monitor customer accounts and transactions for indicators of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crime risks.
  • Maintain accurate and complete investigation records, case documentation, and supporting evidence.
  • Escalate high-risk or complex cases to the AML Manager or relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of AML/CTF controls, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist with AML risk assessments, periodic reviews, reporting, and regulatory requests.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to address AML-related issues and strengthen controls.
  • Stay informed of emerging AML/CTF typologies, regulatory developments, and financial crime risks relevant to fintech and digital wallets.
  • Support internal audits, SAMA inspections, and other regulatory reviews by providing required documentation and information.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Anti-Money Laundering or financial crime compliance. A strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations, particularly those set by SAMA, is essential. Experience within the fintech or digital payments sector is advantageous.

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills, with a keen eye for detail in identifying unusual patterns and potential risks. Effective communication abilities are required for documenting findings, preparing reports, and collaborating with various internal teams. The role also demands a proactive approach to staying informed about evolving AML/CTF typologies and regulatory changes in the financial sector.

Work Environment

This full-time role is based in Riyadh. The AML Officer will work collaboratively across multiple departments, including Compliance, Risk, Operations, Product, and Technology, to ensure robust financial crime controls and a secure operating environment for Tabby's services.
