About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Assistant Manager - Training to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on identifying and addressing employee and organizational development needs, ensuring effective training programs are in place to achieve desired business results. The training initiatives cover various topics, including product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in conducting needs assessments, designing and developing training programs, and facilitating both custom and corporate training programs.
Measure the effectiveness of training to ensure a return on investment.
Promote and inform employees about all available training programs.
Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and foster a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
Help employees identify specific behaviors that contribute to service excellence and ensure ongoing training to understand guest expectations.
Utilize effective training methods to ensure employees comprehend guest satisfaction principles and can demonstrate relevant skills.
Meet regularly with the training cadre to support training efforts and observe employee service behaviors, providing feedback to individuals and/or managers.

Training Program Evaluation and Development

Monitor enrollment and attendance at training classes, meeting regularly with participants to assess progress and address concerns.
Partner with operational leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills.
Review comment cards, guest satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas for improvement.
Measure the transfer of learning from training courses to operational practice, ensuring adult learning principles are incorporated into programs.
Identify performance gaps and collaborate with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to improve performance.
Assist with making necessary adjustments to training methodology and/or re-train as appropriate.
Align current training and development programs to effectively impact key business indicators.
Assist with establishing guidelines for employees to understand expectations and parameters.
Develop specific training to improve service performance and drive brand values and philosophy in all training activities.
Incorporate guest satisfaction as a component of departmental meetings, focusing on continuous improvement.

Budget Management

Assist with the development of the training budget as required.
Manage the budget in alignment with Human Resources and property financial goals.
Manage department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
Utilize P-card, if appropriate, to control and monitor departmental expenditures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 year of relevant experience. This role requires a professional who can effectively contribute to employee development and organizational growth within a dynamic hospitality environment.
