About the Aviation Market Lead Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Market Lead to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to driving aviation business growth, managing client relationships, and overseeing bid processes and project delivery within the Kingdom. The position requires strong business development expertise, deep knowledge of the Saudi aviation market, and proven experience in infrastructure consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for business development, client relationships, bid management, and project execution in the Kingdom, supporting the wider Middle East Aviation Market growth strategy.
  • Develop and expand the client network within Saudi Arabia, leveraging existing connections and establishing new ones.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Aviation clients in the Kingdom throughout all project stages, from bidding to delivery.
  • Optimize existing resources in the Kingdom for project delivery and identify capability gaps aligned with the strategic growth plan across five Aviation propositions: Strategy and Planning; Design and Engineering; Delivery and Construction; Testing, Commissioning, and ORAT; and Asset Management & Transformation.
  • Contribute operational inputs to the Aviation Market Director and leadership team, including financial and utilization metrics, pipeline status, and bid updates.
  • Support market and opportunity analysis, generate leads, and connect with potential new customers.
  • Foster and strengthen existing client relationships and maintain a network of local partners for project services delivery.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for bid preparation and offer general support to senior management as required.

Strategic Objectives and Growth Focus

  • Assist in developing and demonstrating successful delivery of AtkinsRéalis' growth plan, measured against set targets.
  • Establish a consistent and coordinated approach to winning work through business development efforts.
  • Support key account management plans for major clients in KSA, aiding the Middle East Aviation Market Director in identifying stakeholders and intelligence on upcoming projects.
  • Identify several new potential clients and project opportunities within 12 months, leading to proposal submissions.
  • Within 12 months, raise the profile of AtkinsRéalis Aviation within client organizations in the Kingdom where there is a visible pipeline of future work and where AtkinsRéalis has no previous exposure, ensuring formal pre-qualification and registration for RFPs.
  • Within 3 months, independently follow up with clients in the Kingdom to coordinate submitted proposals and opportunities, maximizing success rates.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record of business development and project delivery with infrastructure and aviation clients in Saudi Arabia.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Previous experience in airport and aviation-related consultancy services or infrastructure-related consultancy services is essential.
  • High knowledge of the KSA market dynamics, including airport and airline developments, competitors, and potential clients.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship management skills, demonstrated by successful outcomes.
  • Commercially focused, creative, confident, self-driven, and inventive, with the ability to originate commercial solutions.
  • Sensitive and appreciative of the culture and challenges of working with clients in Saudi Arabia, with the ability to communicate complex commercial solutions confidently and sensitively.
  • Experience in participating in or managing bid production, and carrying out market and opportunity analysis.
  • Proven record in business development and related commercial mechanics, alongside an ability to close deals.
  • Self-starting, motivated, resourceful, and able to effectively manage time.
  • Strong delivery culture, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to think innovatively and generate new ideas.
  • Presentable, professional, and able to work under pressure occasionally.
  • Flexibility.
  • Arabic speaker and Saudi National are considered significant advantages.
  • Experience working for multinational companies in the Kingdom is desirable.

Educational Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably from a Western university.
