About Bechtel Corporation and the King Salman International Airport Project

Bechtel Corporation has a history of involvement in significant airport projects globally, including developments in the GCC region such as King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company has been appointed to provide project management consultancy services for the development of King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This project aims to increase the airport's capacity to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million travelers by 2050, alongside processing up to million tons of cargo by 2050. Bechtel's services include managing the development of three new terminals: Terminal 6, an Iconic Terminal, and a Private Aviation Terminal.

Role Overview: Cost Engineer (Finance)

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Cost Engineer (Finance) for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting finance, routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. The Cost Engineer will contribute to implementing cost monitoring and control standards, preparing cost data, and managing the project trend program. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and is integral to ensuring projects adhere to budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities as directed.
  • Support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
  • Assist with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction disciplines or groups of disciplines.
  • Support the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts.
  • Assist in the development of quantity takeoffs for specific disciplines or specialties.
  • Assist in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommend appropriate modifications and revisions.
  • Support the project trend program.
  • Assist in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs.
  • Support project accounting activities, including cost tracking, general ledger, and sub-job financial management, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Support monthly close, forecasting, and financial reporting, including required variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation and review of client invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms and supporting documentation requirements.
  • Review and process vendor invoices to ensure proper cost coding and alignment with project budgets and commitments.
  • Monitor, review, and reconcile key accounts, including accruals, receivables, and unbilled costs, and resolve variances in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in cost engineering or a related finance role.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
  • Experience with budget allocation, quantity takeoffs, and developing unit rates.
  • Familiarity with project accounting, financial reporting, and invoice processing.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting the King Salman International Airport development project.
