This role is for the Ar Rjum Project, a greenfield gold project located in the Central Arabian Gold Region of Saudi Arabia. The project encompasses three open-pit mining operations, associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure, including water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages. The site is situated approximately 200 km north-east of Taif, towards Riyadh, and about 26 km south of Al Mouwayh, a town on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

The Role of Cost Engineer NG Substation

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Cost Engineer NG Substation to join the Ar Rjum project team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves critical responsibilities in cost control and financial analysis for a large-scale mining operation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in preparing accurate cost forecasts, reviewing cost trends, and implementing robust cost control measures to ensure project financial health. This role demands detailed analysis to develop innovative solutions for complex cost engineering challenges within the project scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cost budgets and ensure accurate cost and cashflow forecasts, utilizing the project's change management system.
• Perform ongoing analysis of project costs and cash flow.
• Monitor contractor progress, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals, and provide detailed variance analysis.
• Ensure all approved trends and changes are accurately incorporated into the overall project Estimate at Completion (EAC) and budget for both cost and quantities.
• Maintain open communication channels with other project organizations to support effective cost engineering analysis and control activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Cost Engineer NG Substation position should possess a strong background in cost engineering and project financial management. The role requires a professional with significant experience in a similar capacity.

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in cost engineering or project cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare cost forecasts, review trends, and implement cost control requirements.
• Proficiency in performing cost and cash flow analysis and utilizing change management systems.
• Experience in monitoring contractor progress, verifying costs, and preparing financial accruals and variance reports.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based at the Ar Rjum Project site in Saudi Arabia. The project location is approximately 200 km north-east of Taif and accessible via the Jeddah - Riyadh highway. The role requires working within a dynamic project environment, collaborating with various teams to achieve project objectives. While the project site is remote, it is situated within the broader region encompassing cities such as Taif, Riyadh, and Jeddah.
